Diccionari de sinònims de frases fetes
Synopsis
The Diccionari de Sinònims de Fetes Frases Fetes (from now on DSFF) by Maria Teresa Espinal is a dictionary that relates concepts with lexicalised expressions of different grammatical nature, what in traditional grammar have been generically called locutions and frases fetes. Different grammatical and linguistic information is provided for each expression. Also indicated are relations of meaning (synonymy, antonymy, argumental inversion and semantic extension) and multiple references to other lexicalised expressions.
The first printed edition of the work was published by the Servei de Publicacions de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Publicacions de la Universitat de València and Publicacions de l'Abadia de Montserrat in 2004, followed by an updated second edition in 2006, which is the last one available in printed format.
The printed edition of the DSFF included a CD-ROM that complemented the functionalities of the work, but now it is a product with software requirements that are no longer in line with the computer equipment available on the market today. The contents of the 2006 printed edition are also available for consultation in open-access PDF format on the monograph platform of the UAB Publications Service.
The DSFF has been available online since 2018 (first online edition) thanks to the development carried out by Pere Orga. The current version of 2025 (second online edition) incorporates a thorough revision and updating of the work initially published in print format. In the current online version 54% of the initial entries have been revised and improved. This version also contains a significant increase in the number of concepts and lexicalised units: 5,800 conceptual entries, 19,600 lexicalised expressions and 23,200 different entries, and it is the most complete dictionary of phrases in the Catalan language.
