Synopsis

The Programa de Cooperación Educativa Universidad-Empresa (PUE) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has been, for almost four decades, a benchmark initiative in the collaboration between university and industry for training, talent development, and the enhancement of student employability. This study analyzes the labor market insertion of the 2016–2021 PUE graduating classes and compares their career paths with those of Economics and Business graduates from Catalan universities, using AQU Catalunya data as a baseline reference. This approach makes it possible to rigorously evaluate the Program's contribution to the quality of employment integration. The results show that PUE graduates achieve high levels of job placement, employment stability, job quality, and professional satisfaction, confirming the value of an educational model built on close, ongoing collaboration between academia and the business sector. Aimed at university leaders, partner companies, public administrations, and professionals interested in higher education, employability, and knowledge transfer, this study provides evidence to guide the improvement of university employment policies and to reinforce university-business cooperation as a strategic pillar for talent development. This study serves as proof of the impact that solid, continuous cooperation between universities and companies can have on the education and professional future of graduates.
