This book contains one hundred exercises, with their respective solutions, on descriptive statistics, probability and random variables, corresponding to the first part of the Statistics courses that are usually included in Economics and Business Administration curricula. We believe that, despite certain differences in level and length, there is sufficient uniformity among the exercises and that any economics and business student should be able to solve them. Or, more modestly, to read them and understand the procedures used in the solution without difficulty. There are no impossible exercises in the collection, but there are demanding exercises that require a degree of deep thought, dedication and effort, but do not require special technical or analytical skills. The exercises are appropriate for students of various Economics and Business degrees, which is why we deliberately avoid technicalities and focus on applications that may be of interest to these students. Not all exercises have an ‘economic’ feel, but many have been designed to show the potential of statistics in economic applications.
