L'hora de la mort: VIII Premi de Narrativa Breu Caterina Albert de 2017

L'hora de la mort was the winning work of the 8th "Caterina Albert" Short Narrative Award for Young Authors (2017), organized by the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Cerdanyola del Vallès Town Council. "He should celebrate that the breaking of the cup and the flutter of the butterfly made him avoid that piano, he should weep with joy and light a candle of thanks to Saint Martin, Saint Ermengol, Saint Winefride, and Saint Sylvia, because he has just evaded death. But instead of joy, fear overcomes him." Eugeni Boncompte prepares to go to work. He follows the same ritual every morning. Today, Thursday November third, seems like any other day. But when he leaves home, he does not know that fate has prepared a surprise for him.
