Mitos y pantallas
Synopsis
The present volume, Myths and Screens, brings together a total of twelve papers presented at a conference of a similar title and theme held at the University of Cádiz in March of last year, 2022. This scientific meeting was organized by the University of Cádiz research group HUM 1026, Image and Memory: Transversal Perspectives between History and Audiovisual Media, active since February 2019, although some of its members have known one another and shared research experiences for many years.
The aim of the pages that make up this work—heterogeneous in both content and form—is none other than to reflect on the relationships and connections between the humanities and audiovisual media, from cinema to video games or from television to comics. Unlike what occurs in other knowledge-related disciplines, in the field of the humanities it is far more fruitful to open paths than to close spaces, to initiate conversations rather than to complete discourses. We hope that this book will serve this purpose.
For the research group HUM 1026, the publication of Myths and Screens represents a further step in its trajectory as a research platform rather than the end of a journey.
