25 anys de l’"InfoK": El repte d’informar els infants en l’entorn digital
Synopsis
Access to information is a fundamental right that also belongs to children, and informing them is not just about explaining what happens in the world, but giving them the keys to understand it and to build themselves as critical citizens. With this conviction, journalists, researchers, and educators dialogue in these pages about the educational and democratic role of children's news programs, and about how journalism, as a public service, can accompany childhood in a digitized media ecosystem.
This book compiles the contributions of the speakers at the conference "25 anys de l’InfoK. El repte d’informar els infants en l’entorn digital", which took place on October 23, 2026, at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, on the occasion of InfoK's 25th anniversary. Broadcast live from Monday to Thursday on Televisió de Catalunya's children's channel, and also on-demand via 3Cat platforms and others like YouTube, InfoK is a pioneering news program that has established itself as a solid and stable benchmark for children's news. This has been made possible thanks to a clear commitment to quality information and media literacy as an essential part of citizenship education.
With an educational and outreach focus, this book aims to contribute to a collective reflection on how to inform children and adolescents through rigorous, responsible journalism adapted to new media consumption habits.
